Check out the Best Western Park Place Inn & Suites

I reserved a room for the Watts Clan at 103 per night. Hint - use the 21 day advanced purchase.

CAUTION - Once you book the room you are committed. Your card is charged and there are no refunds or cancellations. I did not see this before. I thought I was just reserving the room. So we are staying at this hotel now - sorry. My bad for not reading the fine print. But if you do the Best Rate Available option then you can cancel - the cost however is 129 per night.

There is a $8.00 per day parking fee as well - this I did see.

This hotel is right across the street from the main gate area. We can walk! Go across South Harbor and you are there (5 to 10 min walk at most???).

So now we have the hotel - one of the most challenging quests in a trip involving three different groups.

If you looked at the map of the area you will notice that the hotel is on Katella Ave which is not the same road as the entrance to the park.

But no worries.

There is parking down the street and to the north. When you get to the pay booth you then show either your tickets or the print out of your e-tickets (tickets purchased online) and you can park for free. But the fun doesn't stop there - you then walk to the escalators take them down and board a pretty fast tram which will take you to the gate area or Downtown Disney.

Well at least this is the way it was when we went a couple of years ago. So it could have changed - but the parking is still there. From a personal perspective this is better for me because it saves wear and tear on my ankles. So that is my 4.239 cents for the day (yeah it should be 2 cents but inflation you know).

But I did have another item to bring out. The other major challenge is the eats - we gotta have eats. There is of course a huge number of restaurants and other eating establishments in the area. And wouldn't you know it that there is a Denny's right next door. I mean how cool is that - ok probably not but it is still there. The point is that we probably should give this a bit of thought as we will have to eat at least twice a day.

Candy Cane Inn (250 yards or about 10 min walk or shuttle)

2 Queen Deluxe rooms, breakfast, free parking and internet

Cost: Wed/Thurs 133 each Fri/Sat 144 each or 554 total. This doesn't include tax either.

We already reserved 3 rooms (which are together) and we can cancel up to 2 days before arrival.

Best Western Anaheim Inn

2 Double Beds, Free Internet, parking but don't know if it costs,

Cost - Well that depends on if you are Senior Citizen (75.65), the rest of us (89.00)

We already reserved 3 rooms (not guaranteed to be together) and we can cancel by Nov 2 by

4:00pm(PST)

The reason we reserved the rooms - was to make sure we had something and at the rates.

We also found a house

6 Bedroom/5 Bathroom home $325/night for 4 nights for a total of $1300 plus $150 Cleaning Fee.

We can either divide this by family (1/3 for each) or by person. We would have to drive to the parking as this is not within walking distance. But we would be able to cook our own meals at the house saving a bit of money.

We have NOT reserved this one.

So these are the options we (Joyce and Meganne) came up with.

Joyce sent a request for a call tomorrow - same time works for us.

I was also told today that the countdown is 43 days.

Hi Disneyland goers,
Lorin and I have been looking at the LaQuinta motel directly in back of Disneyland. We can get a 2 room suite (separate living room with full size sofa bed) w/2 reg beds for $85 per night or $340 for the four nights. This does not include tax, which is 15% I think. It sleeps up to 6 people. Free bright side breakfast, microwave and mini fridge, high speed internet access, work desk. It looks pretty good-a little farther away than the other one that Joyce was talking about, but still right by Disneyland. You just have to go around to the front gate (which is 1.8 miles) to get in.

Check out this one--6 bedroom, 2 bath, "walk" to Disneyland, Tish--2 highchairs, 2 pack-n-plays, and strollers provided. $375 a night. Looked good to us--give feedback.

So it has been almost a year since we have posted anything here. Personally I am surprised it is still available.

New destination -- Disneyland!!

Summary from the call -- check out hotels. There are plenty near and close to Disneyland so it shouldn't be too hard. We have stayed at Best Western Pavilions and it is not that bad. As far as the Watts are concerned it doesn't matter to us if we are on property or off.
